My latest publication… an analysis of the significance and expected legacy of Japan’s Defense Reforms under Prime Minister Abe Shinzo (2012 – 2020) … is now available as part of a new (2021) volume published by Cambridge University Press and edited by Takeo Hoshi (University of Tokyo) and Phillip Lipscy (University of Toronto). I am grateful to Profs. Hoshi and Lipscy for the invitation to join the project and to present the original draft of this paper at a February 2018 workshop held at Stanford University’s Shorenstein Asia-Pacific Research Center.
